Product Overview

Manufactured from quality 316 stainless steel, HIDE's Concrete Linear Drain Covers are available in one-metre lengths, each with four stainless steel bridges welded to the underside. The HIDE Cover includes two black plastic keyway formers and four lugs to hold the concrete in place. The formwork option includes  'Edge Protectors', which can remain embedded in the concrete slab or installed to enable removal after concrete cures. The HIDE components can fit into the Everhard Easy Drain channel, channel will be sourced separately from Everhard industries distributors.

Discreet high-flow drainage every time!

The HIDE Concrete Linear Drain Cover has been established based on the success of HIDE's square infill access cover. Discreet and functional HIDE covers that incorporate the surrounding surface's colour, texture and finish.

HIDE's linear concrete infill system is the first of its kind, specifically designed for external drainage and wet-pour concrete capacity. Its uniquely flexible installation options allow the concrete contractor to achieve the best possible discreet finish for surface water drainage; the cover detail and installations can be specified to the contractor's or homeowner's requirements.

The HIDE Concrete Linear System is placed within your Everhard Easy Drain Channel. The HIDE cover sits in the existing 5mm grate slots within the channel. The cover is 8mm narrower and is exposed 40mm above the Channel wall, in line with the final concrete surface.

The Surrounding surface pour will be separated from the cover to create the drainage slot down to the channel. The installer can use HIDE Formwork to create this clearance or form his own recess and channel.

Flexible Installation Options:

Each 1000mm HIDE Kit may be used as a stand-alone drain or multiple kits butted together to create any length to suit site and drainage requirements.

Option One:

  • The concrete contractor may create the drain channel and water clearance recess with their own Formwork and place then HIDE cover to conceal the water way.

Option Two:

  • HIDE offers a Stainless Steel 'Edge Protector' for the best visual appeal, or remove the 'Edge Protectors' as reusable 'Formwork'.

HIDE Linear Formwork plus ply Cover Plate must be secured and held in place within the channel during the pour using tie-downs or installation tape. The Cover Plate Spacer stabilises the formwork, keeping the screed out and formwork in line. Spacers need to be positioned to match the Cover Bridges.

The formwork side wall lugs protrude into the water flow clearance, ensure placement of the 1000mm cover allows for the 4 cover bridges to clear the location of the lugs. (place the covers and the formwork side walls matching,)

In multiple HIDE cover layouts, try to butt HIDE covers away from the jointing channel

To ensure a secure, accurate installation of the channel: 'bed in' or set a base for the Channel and HIDE Cover at the correct height on a mortar bed. Set the Everhard channel straight and in line with a string line.

The consideration or addition of control joints or expansion voids is recommended; contractors will allow for this as required.

Each 1000mm cover comes with two keyways, tape over keyway slots when not required.

Consider improving the visual appeal by adding keyway slots to one HIDE Cover at the end of the channel. The remaining covers can be lifted by hand once the HIDE key removes the first cover.

The covers are not designed to be shortened.

System Placement and Alignment

Once in position and at height, securely fix the channel and formwork hardware with the addition of quick-set concrete around and into the channel exterior wall cavities.

Place the holding mix every 500mm with a spread of 300mm to ensure the system does not float up or move during the pour.

For multiple inline butting covers: use the remaining formwork end caps as edge protector spacers/joiners at butting formwork side lengths. (as per images)

Simply cut off both side wing extensions of the end cap to the correct width.

The channel should be set with a fall and gradient as per the site drainage requirements.

Finishing and Allowances

Pour the HIDE covers separately on a flat and level surface. Marginally overfill by 1-2 mm for exposed or polished finish. Keep wet/damp during cure and move carefully and well-supported until fully cured. After polishing, wash it down with water and never allow acid to make contact with stainless steel. Rusting of 316 Stainless Steel is not covered by warranty.

Formwork can be installed for easy removal if required; reverse lugs and tape up the remaining holes.
